It was so lovely to work on a portrait of these two little girls. I combined a couple of photos of the girls to create the pastel portrait 50 x 70 cm.
I wanted to create a whimsical image of the two girls with lots of pastel colours and capture their beautiful sweet faces.

Fashion Illustration
I have noticed lately that I am drawing more and more fashion illustrations which is my secret love! I think I may have been born in the wrong era, maybe 1930s would have been better suited to my style of drawing and then I’d still be working in Advertising! Illustrating beautiful fashion though and not a Graphic Designer!!

A Special Pregnancy Portrait.
I have been very busy this month working on paintings, but I am now able to share my latest work with you. Louella who was 40 weeks pregnant had her beautiful baby boy 48 hours after this picture was taken!! The portrait is ready to be posted off to its new home in the UK.

Overall Prize for my Pastel Portrait “Cherish”
I was really excited and extremely humbled this afternoon when my pastel painting, “Cherish”, won Overall Prize at this year’s Creative Gladstone ‘International Women’s Day’ Art Competition.

Inspiring Futures
International Womans Day has come around again very quickly, I can’t believe it has been a year! The Creative Gladstone Region are again holding their annual competition with “Inspiring Futures” being the theme. Here is my submission “Cherish”, I hope you like it!
Twitter Art Exhibit
Here is something quite exciting!
Artist David Sandum is this year organising a Twitter exhibition for his local charity in Norway: “The Women’s Crisis Centre in Moss”, where abused women and children can get help. The centre also provides a 24 hour phone-service, counseling, food and shelter etc.
Artists contribute postcard sized, hand painted original artwork (representing a tweet), that will be sold to raise money for the charity. You can keep up to date with the exhibition on Twitter using the #twitterartexhibit hashtag.
A very cool idea, here is my contribution!!

I have had the privilege of making a beautiful friend and spirit on Facebook, Astara Lak’ech. Last week I received my copy of the 2012 Goddess Alliance Calendar with one of my beautiful pregnant women on the front cover. Such an amazing feeling to see something you have created in print!

I am an Australian artist creating portraits of people, children, babies and specialising in big beautiful bellies. I work with pastels, charcoal and pencil to create your painting or drawing directly from your favourite photographs, making it easy to commission a unique or original gift.

Living in beautiful Queensland, Australia. I am very lucky to do what I love every single day, inspired by my own three little boys. I work directly from your photographs which eliminates the need for a studio sitting and the finished portraits are mailed out to you by secure delivery.
I will always speak to my customers either by phone or email to find out exactly what style they would like for their artwork. I love happy customers and work hard to make sure they fall in love with their finished piece. Before completion, I always send the customer a photo of their drawing or painting for them to check and approve. The painting isn't completed until the customer is completely happy.
